About

Sanford Myers has been photographing life’s moments for almost 20 years. During this time his unique vision has been displayed in major newspapers, magazines, books, and numerous commercial projects, and his work has won over 40 national and regional awards.
Sanford’s most unique trait is in the diversity of his work. From the sidelines of the Superbowl to the rooms of America’s finest homes to the deck of a tanker in the Gulf of Mexico, he has captured the moment that mattered. “I do not want to pigeonhole myself as one type of photographer,” he says, “I want to explore all areas with my camera."
He also brings any easy-going attitude along with a big dose of passion to each shoot, and he enjoys making the process a collaborative one so that the shoot is a success. “I am fortunate that I get to do what I love to do for a living and I want to share that with my clients. I enjoy working with editors, art directors, and clients so that the final image is one we all want.”
After graduating from Ithaca College in 1990 with a B.S. in cinema and still photography, Sanford went to work as an assistant with noted architectural photographer Kim Sargent. There he began to build his understanding of lighting and the challenges and rewards of photographing interiors. From there Sanford became a staff photographer for three different newspapers in a 14-year period where he honed his skills and perfected the art of adapting to different shooting environments.
When not behind the lens, Sanford enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons at their home near Nashville, Tennessee.
